We'd like our clothes back if you're done with them
We’re going circular. Going circular means we’ll take our products back once you’re done them. We have a disposal disconnect when it comes to our clothes. One garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned every second (not a typo). We’re removing things like plastic bags from our lives because of where they end up once they’re tossed. we need to be thinking about our clothes the same way. Luckily (by design) our clothes don’t have any plastic in them and easily bio-degrade in a landfill, but why even let them get there?
A traditional product lifecycle, one where the consumer throws away a product after purchasing and using it, is known as a linear model.
